Help: Rewiring Parking Lights to be on when car is on

Like the title says, I want to re-wire my parking/city lights to be on 24/7 when my car is on, not just when lights are on, in my '03.5 Sedan.

I was wondering if you guys could help me about how would be the best and safest way to rewire the lights, and perhaps guide me to what would be the best constant 12v source from the engine bay.

Thanks.

Won't that kill your battery after a day or two?

Should be pretty easy - wire a relay up like this:

Pin 86 - Ignition
Pin 85 - Ground (diode from Pin 85 to Pin 86 with stripe facing Pin 86)
Pin 30 - 12vdc
Pin 87 - Parking light output at BCM

You should be able to find all these wires at the drivers side BCM - grab a service manual and it should be pretty simple.

parking lights won't work as daylight running lights. There is a thread on here somewhere where a guy rewired his fogs to be daylight running lights - that's a little closer to "real" DRLs.

The Canadian cars have a completely different setup that uses a dedicated DRL module. If I remember right it's not a simple retrofit.

Yeah, I don't want them on when my car is off, I just want them on whenever my car is in the on position. So, yeah, daylights. And I don't want it to be the side lights as well, just the parking light in each headlight.

With that being said, KPierson, will your recommendation still work?
