Rear axle click and heating issues?

Hi all,

Just purchased a 2005 G35c 6MT, 34k miles. It was a single owner. My first problem is a clicking sound that seems to be coming from one of the axles, probably the rear...I think the dealership should be able to fix this?

Second, I've only had this car for about two weeks and my previous car was a Honda s2000...so I'm not too familiar with how hot this thing normally gets. From a cold start (overnight) I'd say it gets to normal operating temperature in under 3-4 mins. My s2k usually took a lot longer; is this normal for the G? Also, I notice that after leaving the car parked from anywhere to 2-3 hours, I come back, and the temperature gauge is still kind of high (probably a few bars below normal operating temp). Do these cars usually take a good while to cool down? Also, during acceleration I notice some heat coming under from where the pedals are...is this also normal?

Any input greatly appreciated, thanks.

these cars reach operating temp quite quickly. this is mainly to meet tough emissions standards.

there is a bulletin on the axle click. no parts needed, just grease. dealer will cover it..

Thanks for the prompt reply. What about heat from under where the pedals are? Is this just normal heat generated from the motor?

I can't say i feel heat from under the pedals, but i always feel some heat in the cabin, but im pretty sure that's due to the heat from the engine.

if want you can ask the dealer when you bring it in for the axles to check it out.

remember your s2k was a i-4 and this is a 3.5 v6 much bigger engine, and thus much more heat.

same thing happened to me.. the axel click might be the diif.. try changing the fluid.

the heat is comming from the vents near your feet. its from the engine heat, you will notice it more on the highway as the air flow pushes the heat into the vents.

Axle click is common on the Gs and Zs. My 04' G35SC did it and it was repaired by the dealership. Our 04 350ZR had it and was repaired by the dealership. When I bought my 03 a few months ago it had it, and it was out of warranty so they will not fix it.

Take it to Infiniti - they will fix it.
