I have had a V1 for years now and still love it. I send it in from time to time for a software upgrade.

If you stick to a Passport, V1 or a Bel, you can't go far wrong. I have owned LOTS of passports over the years. I love them because they just don't give you many false reports. V1 is a very sensitive unit, therefore it's a bit "chatty". If you look at the test results between any of these units, there is not but a couple of percentage points of difference between them in the "detection" department. It comes down to your preference of features and ergonomics.

i can say from all the detectors i've used/owned or experienced with friends' cars i can say the valentine 1, my current detector, is here for good. i was very skeptic due to the price and never thought the arrows were that big of a deal, but wow i can just tell you it is waaaaayy worth it
