Need help! Stuck with drive belt change on 07 g35x!

2007 g35x. Trying to replace the drive belt. I got it off okay but can't get the new one on. I've found a lot of help for the g35's but the x is totally different. Has anybody done this before? Is there a way to adjust the tension? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What did you do to get the old one off?? When I've done this before, I would stick something in to hold the belt tensioner in the "loose" position. This would allow me to easily remove the old belt and install a new one. After the belt installation, I remove whatever I am using to hold the tensioner in place and the install is done after I make sure the tensioner is working correctly.

first make sure the belt you bought is the same size. 2nd make sure you are routing the belt the same way. 3rd make sure the tensioner is in a postition where all the it gives the most slack. dont know if you got auto tensionor or a manual tensionor. if its auto your gona have to hold it while you put the belt on if its manual u just have to keep backing it off till you have the slack you need.

and rhoward15 did u really pay 800$ to have a belt changed?

I didn't have any problem at all when I changed my drive belts. Did you loosen the bolt in the center of the tensionor pulley, as well as the tensionor itself? That pulley should move enough so that the belt just slides right on if you're routing it correctly.

I figured it out. I had never seen a tensioner pulley, only the bolts that loosen the tension. Once I figured that out, I got it all back together. Thanks!
