Annoying sound in rear

One of your calipers might be seazed. Mine did something similar. The pulsating was related to speed, not gear, and got worse if I was on the brakes.
Eventually it ate the pad and rotor up.
I removed the caliper, took the piston out, gave it a good cleaning and sanded lightly with 800 grit.
Replaced all 4 rotors and pads. Everything's been perfect since.

Go rent a Kia, set the parking brake, and drive around town for an hr or so... that's what brake smells like
If the caliper is stuck, it will be really hard to push the piston back in.
You might have to take off the other one on the back so you have a frame of reference.
