Oil Burn,Mods

I have a 6sp AT with an amembarrassing amount of miles on it. Its also burning some oil but not too bad. I was wondering if any of you guys have any suggestions on how to fix the problem for a fair price without swaping the engine wich i really dont want to do budget wise. I have some exhsaust goin on but nothing to fancy and i was also wondering is there a point in trying to do performance mods on high mile car. Im veryn new to the site take it easy on me thnx

these motors are fairy good at going high miles, ive seen one at 140k and another one (sedan)had 160k for sale it ran good too. As far as the oil i read using different oil has helped some.

What oil are you using now? How much oil are you burning

It can be as easy as switching up a grade.

Oil burn

Exactly how many miles and I suggest Googling "what weight oil to use in high mileage engines" or similar. Synth of course is what you want. Did you search that same Q on this site? With high miles, mods such as exhaust and cold air won't hurt, as long as you are not tempted to go RPM crazy.

I know Mobile one has a high mileage formula and compared to the extended performance M1 i use the only diff is the high mileage resists oil burning somehow

Car is on 136k as far as the oil burn goes im not sure how bad it is but i dont change it that often maybe every month and a half or so driving 30 miles 3 days a week i use m1 High mile.. Runs fine so i guess ill keep using it and ill leave it at that. As far as the aftermarket mods go is it worthit to add exsaust and intake mods on Auto or just keep drivin and try to get a stick. Thnx for the input btw
