SES Light is on - hesitation when starting
Hey all,
A little bit about my car. '03 sedan with 94k miles on it. Bought the car about a month ago - had it checked over by my mechanic and have no problems with it at all so far. I'm getting new rotors and pads installed on Thursday, but that's the only thing I've noticed seriously wrong with the car.
Anyway, drove home from work this afternoon to eat lunch, let my car sit for about 30 minutes and then got in it to leave to come back to work. However, the car wouldn't turn over immediately, but eventually I got it to on the 3rd try. My SES light came on too and I'm concerned what that means.
Now, I haven't had the oil changed yet (doing that on Thursday as well), so I'm wondering if that's what the SES light may be for? But I'm really concerned that the car didn't start right away. Over the weekend I drop an oiled filter into the stock air box (trying to find a z tube) and I reset my ECU via the pedal method. Car has been driving fine until today and I have been driving it a bit hard.
I'm going to go to Autozone and have the codes checked after work, but any thoughts on what the issue might be? I live in Florida and it's hot as ***** out right now, but I don't think the heat would make the car hesitate to start. Any suggestions are more than helpful. Thanks.

P0455 could be as simple as a loose gas cap.
For the other look at the link below. I would unhook you negative battery terminal for 30 minutes as it suggests.

Thanks for the info Philly. I tightened the gas cap and reset the ECU with the pedal method. No more SES light and the car runs and idles just fine. I guess for now, I can consider this "fixed". Very finicky cars, huh? But damn do I LOVE mine!!
Just out curiosity - how can the NATS error show up if you've got the original key used with the car? COuld it happen from something s simple as pulling the key out too fast? I have no clue, so that's why I'm asking. Glad for now it's fixed.
