Angry 06 Coupe Overheating

HELP..

i just bought and 06 coupe from the dealership with 66xxx miles on it 3 months ago and currently it has 69xxx miles...

it just started overheating yesterday when i was on the way to work. had my coworker check if there's any leaks and he said it looks OK. It might be my thermostat..

So i brought it to a shop close by work hoping that they would find the thermostat to be the problem too.. They told me that they need to change my radiator because radiator flow is restricted...

is this possible that my radiator would go out that quick? i've had other cars that would go for more than 150xxx miles and i never had to replace the radiator..

I need help!! please advice... my coworkers think they're just trying to rip me off

drive the car for 15 min or so, check the thermostat hose it should we the same temperature (hot) as the top hose if its not than the thermostat is not opening, there will be two hose that connects to the radiator one to the right engine to radiator (thermostat) and one the the left goes from radiator to engine

thanks for the help! it's just the thermostat.. i ended up taking it to my friend's mechanic and he told me that nothing is wrong with my radiator. the shop was just trying to rip me off and get 900$ to replace the radiator and thermostat...

Could be the radiator fans as well. Does it happen most at the time on idle.

+1 on rad cap. had same issue and i began diagnosing radiator, t-stat,hoses,ect. never thought to check the cap.turns out they do go bad. always start with the simple things and work up from there is a rule to live by. congrats on not dumping bunch of money on this OP.

thanks for all the help! i was already suspicious when the shop told me that they have to replace the radiator right away.. good ting i asked for a 2nd and 3rd opinion from other mechanics..

turned out it was only t-sat..cheap and simple fix. 2nd and 3rd mechanics even told me that my Radiator was good, nothing wrong.
