Acceleration and Backfire Problem

Guys I need a little help trouble shooting a problem I have with my 05 G35 coupe. Have had a Vortech supercharger on it for over 3 years now and never had a problem with performance.

Lately, when I go for launch the car will sputter and start to backfire. I lose power and it limps along. I put in new plugs thinking that maybe I blew a plug and I changed the fuel pump thinking that the fuel pump was going out and it appeared to solve the problem but I did not drive the car for a long period of time until last sunday when the same thing started to happen.

I have a friend who has a G with twin turbos and he is experiencing the same problems lately.

The problem only develops when the car has been running for a while lets say an hour or two. It is more evident when you try to get the boost to kick in after you have been riding in the car.

Feel free to share your ideas and ask more questions to better identify the problem.

Thanks,

CD

You may want to change the spark plug wires also. I had a Mitsubishi GST that was sputtering during take off and it turned out to be the wires. When I checked for sparks from the wires, everything looks normal. I replaced the wires anyways, only because I wanted red wires instead of stock grey, and the problem was fixed.
