(pretty) Simple tire compatibility question

I have a pretty simple question here - trying to size up new tires and all of the online calculators say the stock for my car (2004 G35 sedan w/ sport tuned pkg) is 215/55R17. The tires on my car are 225/55R17.

I assume that the 215 is touching less surface, but not as wide so will save a small amount on gas overall, but my main question is - Does it really matter which size to go with?

I checked out the FAQ and calculator and it said it shouldn't be a problem, but wanted to confirm.

Also - anyone have some new tire all season replacement suggestions? Been checkin the Hanook H727 Optimas... Great reviews and 100K warranty, but let me know if you have some suggestions!

Thanks!
Kory
