Does Nissan dealerships do Infiniti keyfobs?

I have a sports tuned 07 G35 coupe.

When I bought it, it came with a dead intelligence keyfob remote. Battery switching doesn't help either.

My Infiniti dealership quoted me $350 for labor/programming/keyfob. So expensive!

Does Nissan dealerships program Infiniti cars? I assume it'd be cheaper there.

I'm not sure why they charge so much to do this for customers. One of the service writers in my area even referred me to eBay because they thought the pricing was out of whack.

I purchased one for an 04 from one of the many vendors, these guys look like they have Smart Keys as well.

The programming procedure for the non-Smart key is pretty simple (they provide instructions and it takes about 2 mins) - not sure about the Smart Key.

The Nissan dealership should be able to program that for you, there's little difference between the G and their Z.

If the 07 fob is the same as the 03 fob you can get them on eBay for less than $20. They're super easy to program yourself only takes about 2 minutes.

+1 on going to Nissan dealership. I have an 03 so I've got the physical key but none the less it has the microchip. I was able to work out a deal; they wanted $70 per key to cut and program the microchip but I got 3 done for $95 total. Maybe you could try talking them down as well. I am in a small town though... But back on topic maybe your key isn't dead, maybe the chip is programmed for another car?

I work at a Nissan dealer and we have all the access to infiniti as well as Nissan info and programming via assist. If a Nissan dealer is referring you to an infiniti more than likely both dealers are owned by the same owner. We only charge .5 to program a key.

Thanks for pointing this issue out, guys. I have the same situation where infiniti dealer told me it's gonna cost me my nut for reprogramming.
So what if I buy the ebay casing only and transfer all the internal parts from the old key over?
It does not need any programming right?

What type of reprogramming are you needing? A key or something else?
