So I came out of the store today and unlocked my door with the keyfob at the exact same time that I was pulling the handle to open it (yes stupid I know) -- when i pulled the handle nothing happpened. I tried to unlock the door again (by fob and maually using the key) and still was unable to open the door. I knew at this point something was seriously wrong so I climbed through the passengers side and tried to open from the inside -- still no dice.

I know that I must remove the door panel to inspect the mechinism, but I am in a catch-22 here because the door will not open. Anyone out there know how to deal with this? Am I going to have to call a lock smith to open the door?

 

Always start basic checking fuses and other simple possibilities etc before jumping to conclusions. In the long run if you can't open the door you can't inspect the door wires/mechanism.... Silly as it sounds try disconnecting your battery ground for a minute and reconnecting..

 

Thanks for the suggestion -- I tried that and it did not work. I ended up calling my roadside assistance and they sent out a locksmith. The locksmith popped the door and it reset the mechanism -- it must have been jammed.
