2005 G35 Coupe Not Turning On

I have a 2005 G35 Coupe at 90k miles. Recently, I was driving in traffic and the car started shaking a bit out of nowhere and it shut down on me. When I tried to turn it on, all I could hear is a constant flickering noise, as the car is trying to turn on but no luck.

I then called my Insurance Company/Roadside Assistant to come out and give me a battery boost so that my car can start. Unfortunately, the boost did not do anything, and the Roadside Assistant agent then told me that it is a possibility that my alternator had gone bad and I would need for it to get replaced.

So now my car is sitting outside my house, unable to turn on. I bought an Alternator from Pep Boys right away to solve the problem. Even after I had replaced the old Alternator with the new one on my vehicle, still no luck unfortunately.

I really want my car to get back up and running, what would you guys suggest? Again, I cannot move my car from my parking lot because it cannot turn on, and it was towed by a towing company to my house the day that my car had shut off on me.

Anyone ever experience such a dilemma or a similar problem? Please help, thanks!

The battery boost / alternator didn't do anything because that wasn't a problem. After work today grab a Haynes manual from your local auto parts store and start following the electrical sections troubleshooter.

Does the car not turn at all? This is where if you flip the ignition and you don't hear clicking or anything. Is it clicking but progressively slowing down? Have you checked your oil lately and made sure your not empty? The rev up manual models had an issue with oil consumption.

The car can turn on. For example, I can listen to the radio, turn on my headlights, but all of that only lasts for about 30 minutes until the car shuts back down. When I try to turn my car on (Engine), it does click repeatedly then progressively slows down.

I'm thinking its the battery. Had symtoms similar to this and the battery was the culpit. OEM batteries go out about every 4 years like clock work.

I tried my friend's battery and it still didn't work. At first I thought that it was my battery as well. Did you experience the constant clicking sounds when you were trying to turn it on (Engine)?

I hope that it is something minor. Getting a mechanic to come diagnose it this evening.

Battery and Alternator is good. Don't know what's wrong.
