Fuel Gauge/Fuel Sender Question

My fuel gauge on my 2005 G35 has recently started reading more fuel than what is in the tank. At fill-up, the gauge goes well above FULL and when the tank should be empty, it still reads around 1/2. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

There is a way to clean the senders (search for that thread) but I replaced both units on our '05 which had a similar problem. I figured if I was going to go to the trouble of pulling them out of the tank to clean them I might as well just replace them (and the special blue gaskets). I'm pretty good with electrical but never work with raw gasoline - messy business! Don't know if I'd attempt it again. Ha!

Thanks! I'm not sure if my DIY skills want to attempt the cleaning or replacement of the fuel sensors. Seems like with others identifying with fuel gauge accuracy there should be a recall.
