Help....VDC & Slip lights on....

I'm fairly new to the G35 clan and the VQ35....I bought my car and recently it has the VDC & Slip lights on the cluster always on....I sort of feel like the car is being held back as if traction control is always active or something....anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? I've tried checking the speed sensors on the wheels but as far as I can tell they're all fine...any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks guys.

My 06 Coupe had the same two lights on and ended up being the yaw sensor. Found one for $20, replaced it and lights are gone. I'd start with that then move on to other solutions. There's a couple threads on here listing different fixes I'll post it on here later if I find it.

I'm having the same issue with my 04 G35

With mine it doesn't come on instantly. Usually takes it a little while of driving before it will come on. I just baught the car today and noticed this. I'll heck into the yaw sensor you spoke of and see if maybe that fixes the issue. Its also a 6 speed manual. Not sure if this matters.

Mines an auto but I doubt it'll make a difference. The lights on mine would always be on there as soon as the car was turned on. Never had any symptoms other than the lights being on tho.

When my Slip and vdc lights were on I added some brake fluid and that fixed the problem, try that first.

The VDC stands for Vehicle Dynamics Control. This controls your traction and vehicle dynamics (helps to keed your car in line if it gets way out of control). When these lights are on constantly their's a problem and the system disengages your VDC and traction control. During inclement weather or hard driving if you loose control of your car, you're on your own and driving skills need to step in. However, your antilock brakes will still work.

I understand what the VDC is for. Just need to figure out why the lights are coming on. I checked at the auto parts stor for YAW sensor. That's going yo he a dealership item they said. So now I'll need to call the dealer ship and get a price unless you fellas know a better place for me to find parts for these cars

I think the dealer cost for a new yaw sensor is $1,000, don't quote me on that I could be wrong I just remember reading that somewhere on here. Just look on eBay that's where I found mine, the only thing is I looked for a yaw sensor of the same year as my car. I don't think the years make a difference but better safe than sorry.

Hey guys I'm having the same problem. I have an 06 coupe mt.

The lights came on randomly while driving. They didn't appear after installing any parts or changing the tires or anything. But as soon as I turn the car on I have slip and vdc lights on. I never had abs lights come on, I know a lot of the threads say they had the 3 lights but I only had the 2.

Originally after reading all the threads, I thought it was the brake fluid/brake pads. So I topped off then fluid and I changed the pads. That didn't fix it though. So I took a look at the wheel sensors and made sure they weren't loose or gunked up. Then I saw the yaw sensor post so I picked one up off eBay for $15 and popped that in but I'm still having the lights come on. I reset the ecu with the key/gas pedal method but didn't change anything. I also checked the vdc and abs fuses, they look fine.

I also have a scanner and it didn't bring up any codes. I called the dealership, they want $130 just to diagnose it. Haha. Any suggestions?

My problem was solved by replacing the YAW sensor...are you sure the one you bought works....mine turned off as soon as I changed the YAW....I'd make sure you buy one from a person on eBay that warranties the sensor to work properly and my problem was the same just the Slip and VDC lights nothing else

Yea the seller I bought it from is some auto part store so they have warranty/returns.

Was your exactly the same part number? The one I received was 47930-AL700 but the one I pulled from the car was 47931-AL70A. Does anyone know if that matters?

For future reference, I found out that the sensors with 47930 were on all automatic G's while the 47931 sensors were on the manual G's.Both sensors came in two versions, AL700 and AL70A (AL70A being the newer models). These yaw sensors were all used up until 2007 when they changed to the 47931-JK models.

I called a few dealerships and no one really knew if AL700 vs AL70A had any difference, but ive pulled the one I got on ebay out of the car and i'm looking for the 47931 model. Hopefully it'll work. haha
