Dealership Multi-Point Inspection?
Dealership Multi-Point Inspection?
Is it worth getting these 100-point inspection (or what ever they're called) done at the dealership for someone that just bought a used '03 coupe(@130k miles)? Or is it a better deal to just get a similar type of inspection done by an independent auto shop?
Is clutch & transmission included in the inspection? I've been trying to diagnose and fix a certain shifting problem through an independent shop who specializes in Nissan, but we still haven't solved anything. Will the dealership solve it quicker or will I go through the same trial & error as I have been with the indie shop?

Found them through Yelp reviews and so far they've been pretty cool. I'm just feeling a little bit lost and stressed about the problem still being present because I'm on a tight budget and I just want to solve it as soon as possible.
Those guys are good and affordable!
i wouldnt even bother going to the dealership, they'll just tear you a new one tbh. If the guys over a Pz cant diagnose it, take it to a shop that specializes in transmissions and see where it goes from there?

Anyways, it's good to know that there's another G owner here in the valley who also happens to post here! What does your G look like? Maybe we've drove by each other before, lol.
There's 3 quality Nissan shops in the SFV!
I think I'm going to get them to do a fluid flush and if that doesn't help, I'll have them look at the entire clutch system.

I am sometimes unable to get into gear when I'm at a complete stop. Either when I come to a full stop in Neutral, or when I come to a full stop in what ever gear I was just in, I can't get back into 1st gear(every other gear gate feels locked too) and the only way to get it back into gear is to pump the clutch multiple times/and or just wait some 10-20 seconds and I can get back into gear. So what I've been doing in the meantime is to make sure I'm always in the correct gear in advance, so that means I shift down to 1st just seconds before I make a complete stop. I have to avoid spending any time in neutral and I have to avoid coasting with the clutch down in any other gear unless I'm already in 1st. In addition, Reverse gear has a lot of resistance and sometimes grinds. No grinding in other gears though.
So far the only drain/fill has been done with my clutch oil when they replaced my Master & Slave cylinders.
Good to know, I'll add Specialty Z to my list of go-to shops, thanks!
I'll be sure to honk at and/or wave/thumbs up fellow G's from now on, maybe it will be one of you from here.
If you're having trans issues I'd bet the guys at Precision Z have already done a drain/fill, flush won't make any difference. I have 3 shops where I have work done in the valley CarZone, Precision Z and Specialty Z also in Canoga Park. Sebastian at Specialty Z is probably the most knowledgeable of the three, he's also my tuner! There's quite a few Driver members that live in the Valley, you're not alone.

Not sure. Previous owner says "it's fine." This is another reason I was considering going to a dealership to possibly get a service history to see if the trans has been worked on or replaced among other things.
While this won't help with any potential problem, you should be coming to a stop in 1st gear, every time. It's a good habit to have.
I've always downshifted to the gear I think I'll need to be in if I'm going to get moving again, whether that is before I come to a complete stop or after.
