Hi
I'm looking for some ideas of what could be wrong with my 2007 G35x Sedan Auto.
When I push the start button I get one brief moment of the engine trying to engage and then everything dies. I doesn't even do a full crank before it goes out. There is absolutely no power for a 2-5 minutes. Then it just starts up normally. Very strange.
The only change to the car after this event happens is that the trips reset to 0 and the display reverts to the home screen which I think is the fuel usage screen.
This happens about every other day and sometimes cold in the am and sometimes in middle of the day.
It's been going on for a week and I'm concerned that one day it won't start back up at all.
The battery is new, and doesn't make sense to be an issue based on being intermittent.
Any ideas???

check the battery cables, ensure they are tight and not loose.

 

also double check the battery. some times you will get a bad battery from the factory.

also double check your grounds. i have had some weird electrical gremlins when my grounds were bad.

 

Doesn't matter if the battery is new.
Did you ever hear of out of the box failures?

Test the battery for a weak or shorted cell
