Rear turn signal help needed

I have a 2003 g35 coupe. My left rear turn signal and brake light is not working. All other lights / signals, work perfect. I also tried the hazards and all work except the rear left. Trying to see if it's a common problem or do I need to replace the whole tail light like the dealer told me over the phone?

Sounds more like simple corrosion (especially if you're in Hawaii)

Pop off the trunk's rear trim piece and you can first look at the ground lug right there to make sure it's solid. (see pic below) That could be that culprit.

Next move would be to unplug the taillight ("combination lamp"), remove the "installation nuts" that hold it in place, pull it, and check that the bulbs and sockets are clean...

Your service manuals are here if you need to read up on these bits:

Ok, so no corrosion anywhere except for what appeared to be a little inside the bulb itself. That seemed strange. The bulb wasn't burnt out either. I replaced it, checked all the connections, and everything is back to normal. There was no visible signs of anything wrong and nothing was loose either. I guess time will tell. Thx for the help. I thought I'd have to buy a new tail light.

Well, glad it's working again. Maybe unplugging it and plugging it back in was all it needed.
