g35 won't start, no click, dash lights turn off when key is turned

My g35 will not start. When the key is in the ON position the dash lights turn on, everything seems fine. When I turn the key to start it, dash lights go out and the car won't even try crank. There are no clicks, or sounds of the car trying to start.
Everything was fine until a couple days ago when the car started slowly, but still started. I replaced the battery, and the starter is under a year old. Help pls

Test the battery!
Possible dead cell/defective battery
Measure voltage across battery terminals when attempting to start.

Definitely sounds like a dead battery.
