2010 Dodge Journey SXT Jammed Door
I have a 2010 Dodge Journey SXT. My keys were locked in my car, had to get a locksmith to unlock the door when he did something happened & now my door will not open. We have tried to pull the inside panel off but with the door jammed shut it has become a very big task as can't figure out how to get it off, tried finding a switch to manually open from inside the door panel & it is not working. Can pull the outside panel out enough to see but can't pull the next panel out no matter what we do. Can anyone assist in this? I just had to replace my key fob $300 do not have the money to pay anyone to open this door. Please if anyone has any advice it would be so grateful.
Firstly I would call back the locksmith and try to work something out with him. At least try to get him to come pop it open again with a slim Jim.
Likely what will need to be done though is remove the passenger seat and either put it in the back seat or remove entirely from the vehicle, this will allow you enough room to remove the door panel, panels are designed to be removed with the door closed in case of lock failure. Once the inner panel is off you have access to the pull linkage, probably one of the plastic keepers was broken off from the locks.ith trying to slim Jim the door.
