05 5AT Coupe. Slight "jerk" at idle. Any ideas?
Hello everyone, I'm a long time lurker here and recently I've run into a minor nuance with my G. I normally have no problem with finding a fix for my issue using the search function, however I'm having a hard time finding anything on this particular issue. I've decided to make a post to hopefully move in the right direction with diagnosing this issue. Here's the facts:
-05 5AT Coupe, 145k miles.
-Only mods are 5/16 plenum spacer and CAI.
-After driving for 4-5 miles, upon stopping the car will present a faint "jerking" feeling every few seconds, sometimes jerking multiple times in quick succession.
-There is no noise or change in idle RPM accompanied with the jerking feeling.
-No SES or check engine light.
-This only happens when in Drive or manual mode, engine runs smooth in park. (Could this be indicative of a transmission issue??)
In my search for answers I've read that the coil packs going bad will cause a misfire, however there is no change in idle RPM with my symptom, which leads me to believe it's not a misfire that's occurring. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Typically that's a slight misfire, pull the plugs and inspect to see how they're doing. If they have 60k miles or you don't know when they were changed last just swap them out for OEM NGK plugs.
If the transmission hasn't been serviced regularly it's time to do it as well, drain and fill, do NOT powerflush, refill with genuine Nissan Matic-J or Matic-S. There is no serviceable filter on the tranmission.
It's also possible you have some worn powertrain bushings and the torque is basically "rubber banding" from the crank to the diff, torquing the drivetrain with sloppy bushings, then the torque is basically shifting back as everything wiggles around. It can definitely cause a "shimmy" kind of feeling but if it's doing it under very mild acceleration then that's probably not the issue.
If the "jerk" is associated with the pedal, like you accelerate it jerks, you let off it jerks again, then it's definitely sloppy powertrain bushings. Engine mounts, transmission mount, rear differential bushing, subframes bushings, it all starts to compound when they're getting worn.
