Helping my boy fix blow engine
Exclamation 2003 G35 Sedan A/T "VDC, SLIP & Service Engine Soon"

Recently did engine swap. Supposed to have 150K. Changed all 3 Cam Shaft Sensors with sensors. Runs great and no more oil leaks.. Thank you lord.. When getting ON IT pedal to the medal type stuff. He gets these lights. Checked codes and camshaft sensor code comes up only. Also he got couple used tires for the rear and the are a size smaller than the front.
Topped brake fluid and still happens. I know his emergency brakes are no good... And wow was I surprised to find out about the emergency brakes being completely separate. Any ideas or helpful thoughts would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks in advance G Enthusiast,

Latest Code
P0327
Raw code: 0327
ECU: 10
Status: Pending
OBDII: Knock sensor (KS) 1, bank 1 - low input
Infiniti: Knock Sensor 1 Circuit low Input (Bank 1 or Single Sensor)

Assuming the engine swapped in was also a non rev-up DE, there are only two cam position sensors (and one crank position sensor). The P0327 code is, as you stated, the knock sensor. So did you replace the knock sensor? Also since it was an engine swap, make sure there is nothing wrong with the connector or wiring to that sensor.

Mike,

Thanks for the reply... Yes 2 cam sensors and 1 crank sensor. The knock sensor has not been replaced. Wiring connectors are not 100% as the locking clips broke on old engine removal. But every time i have checked them they are still 100% seated. Just curious about the tire size thing, Thinking that nay be issue.

Start with the knock sensor, it's probably the knock sensor sub harness, especially if you used the one from the donor engine. The insulation on the wires is prone to cracking, however an OEM knock sensor isn't that expensive so you might as well put in a new one while you have everything apart.

I strongly recommend keeping ALL the existing sensors, fuel injectors, coil packs, etc from the existing engine when you do an engine swap because you have no idea what condition the ones on the donor motor are.

You can buy new cam sensor harnesses and solder splice them onto the car to fix those broken tabs. Pay attention to how those things connect so you don't break them again in the future, you have to press the button in a non-standard direction (parallel to the sensor, not perpendicular) for the cam sensor harnesses.

As for the tire size, put both sizes into a tire size calculator, if the tire size difference is greater than 3% they won't work on the car.
