Broke something that im unfamiliar with





So i was trying to replace my radiator core support and i accidently broke this piece of the car...seems to be something with the radiator?? Can someone tell me what it is and how i could fix it please

Looks like the pressure sensor for your AC condensor. It will probably still have high pressure in the system, depending on how the sensor broke and if the freon escaped or not, so be careful with that. You will need your AC recharged after you replace it though.

Alright so I need to fix the pressure sensor for the condenser and recharge. Is this something I can look up and learn to do or will this require professional work?

Normally you take it to a shop because you aren’t supposed to let out refrigerant into the atmosphere (if it hasn’t already) and having the the machine to accurately fill up your system is a must

Usually you can replace them without discharging the system. There should be a Schrader valve behind it like the valve in you tire to air it up) and as you unscrew the sensor the valve automatically closes. Not 100% sure about the G because I've never touched it but I would crack it loose and see if it can be unscrewed. They will vent a TINY bit of refrigerant, just a tiny little hiss and it's done. If it starts purging any more than that just screw it closed again.
