Service engine light 2006 coupe AT
Service engine light 2006 coupe AT
Long time lurker, have acquired my 2nd G35, this time a coupe, wanted a 6 speed, but hard to find with less than 100K and not winter driven, for a reasonable price.
First Infiniti 2003 sedan, all stock with 258 KM, 2nd owner since 2007.
The new G35 coupe for me is a 2006 coupe with 62000 Km in near mint condition, all stock never winter driven
Yesterday was out for a drive, under hard acceleration tack went 5000 rpm, but the car hesitated.
Once I got to my destination, service engine light came on, and now the tack hunts up & down, and will not idil below 1200 rpm.
Not a handy guy, typically goes to the shop for service. since the car is 15 years old with 40,000 miles, 63000 KM was going to bring the car to the dealership
Trying to figure out what I could have done to the car.
The only two issues, I have thought of are crank cam sensors, but in my 2003 sedan, they did not have to be replaced until 170 KM, and the new car did not experience the same issues when had to replace the cam sensors.
I was thinking of a dirty MAF sensor since the car has been only driven by the previous owner 2k since 2019, the old owner had a c43 coupe which replaced now my g35 coupe.
Just ordered a code reader prior to taking it to the dealer.
Looking for suggestions, or help..thanks.

Just drive down to your local auto parts house, O'reilleys, Autozone, Napa, etc. They will scan your car for free then you will know what the problem is.
Since the idle is all over the place I'd give it a quick once-over to look for vacuum leaks.

We don't have rileys here, have a scanner coming, I can't see it being a vacuum issue, I will wait for the scanner, I am 99% sure its a sensor, issue. As the car has only been driven 1100 km 500 miles in the last two years, and probably never been above 2500 RPMs ever
But thanks for the suggestion.
My mistake the idie is not bouncing up in down, when 'i was driving it home, the idile was moving up and down, say 1100 to 1500 doing 15 miles an hour

How does one remove the MAF sensor to clean it my understanding was that it use a t20 torx screw head, have one does not work, am I missing something I am such a ****, help much appreciated
Well you already figured it out but yeah you can either remove just the sensor itself and spray out out, or you can just leave it inside the intake housing, remove it's housing section, and spray it out like that.
thanks did that , everything is fine thanks, except my TPs sensor, is flashing for 15 seconds and stays on. It's been like this since I have owned the car.
tires are 2 years old, but brand new, as the car sat for two years with only sporadic drives drives to run the car.
I am assuming when the NEW TIRES NOV 2019 WERE INSTALLED they did not reset the sensors. The tires were installed by an independent dealer than

You can recalibrate it yourself by following these steps. It's the same for the G37, I linked their page because they have a better writeup than the one here on G35DRIVER :P
