Getting stuff from Japan to Hawaii...

I am looking into making a big purchase from a shop in Japan in the next few days. The thing is, they do not accept Credit cards. We have been in contact via email for the past few days now. I asked how he would like me to get him the money, and he said he wants me to deposit it into his Japan bank account. Here are my concerns about this.

-How do I make sure I'm not getting ripped off?
-Do I just go to my bank (BOH) and tell them that I want them to put the funds into his japan back account?
-How do I get a reciept for this type of transaction?
-What is the procedures for picking up an international package in Honolulu? (Where, and how much does it cost)

Basically, I just don't want to get ripped off thousands of dollars. Any info appreciated!

I don't know man...just be careful...if anything were to happen, he's over there and you're over here...if anything were to happen, you might be SOL.

Ask your bank about a bank to bank wire transfer or look into an interntional money order from the Post office.

Method of pick up in Hawaii would depend on how it's shipped. By mail, Fed Ex, UPS, or another shipping company / freight forwarder that would say send it via container ship.

Paypal the money at least you can be covered. I would not trust it. Believe me I got screwed twice already with issh like that. Never would I send money order, wire, or deposit to someone's account. Be careful.

No paypal. The list of those screwed by them is long and distinguished. Credit card companies will offer far more protection.

Can you work a 50% down and 50% COD or something of the sort?
