Some people. To the OP: from what I understand, changing your own oil does not void your warranty...UNLESS...unless something goes wrong with your vehicle and it's determined that the underlying cause was you changing your own oil (i.e. you didn't properly tighten your drain plug and it flew off on the H3 causing you to dump oil all over the place and you ended up running your car for 30 miles with no oil and your motor seized blah blah etc...). If like most REAL MEN (j/k j/k
Basically anytime you do your own work or outsource it to someone outside of the dealership, from what I've been told, if your/their work is the cause of any mechanical issues, it's debatable as to whether the job is covered under warranty. Honestly the best thing to do, is simply call service and ask them. Retarded speculative comments like the one made above do nothing to help your situation. Just call and ask man. Our service department is pretty chill.

just make sure that the oil you're goimg to use has the API certification. otherwise there is the possibility that it will void your warranty. this is why a lot of dealerships won't honor some cars that use amsoil. their most advertised oils don't have an API Cert. until recently they have been marketing an API cert grade. just keep in mind that dealerships don't frown on diy oil changes...just the type of oil (synthetic or regular)
