Service at King Infiniti
Service at King Infiniti
Has anyone gotten their cars serviced/repaired at Inifiniti since the change of ownership to King? I'm going there next week for a 3 month oil change (yeah I kissed that shiny metal hook when I bought the G, oh well).
Just wanted to get a feel of how they are looking at modded G's and if they are an up-and-up kind of dealer. I'll let you know my impressions after next Tuesday morning.
Have a good weekend guys.

Well, I brought my vehicle in to check the brakes. They found that they were worn down, metal to metal. They replaced the pads and rotor with no problem and no questions. It was all covered under their sevice warranty. It was free and I can afford that...
My experience was a pleasant one.

I took my car in about a month ago to have its first service. I think they did a good job, even gave me a loaner to drive around in. At the same time I had them look into a rattle that was in the rear deck. Turned out to be the speaker itself which they replaced at no charge. Overall Im very pleased with the service. While there I looked at the new cars and noticed that they have a dealer mark-up sticker now. Guess Im lucky to have bought when I did.
Re: Service at King Infiniti
When I bought the dealer markup sticker was $2,500 on MSRP which they explained was going to be applied to all the G's. Not as bad as the Acura markup that's $4k (0r $5k ?). Pfleuger calls it "Adjusted Market Value". BMW calls it "Additional Dealer Markup". I call it a bunch of garbage. These practices are exactly why the Monroney (MSRP) sticker is mandatory on all new vehicles.
King Infiniti's explanation was that the pricing was too close to the 350Z and Maxima. What a bunch of BS - Nissan is putting out the MSRP, why does King feel that the pricing is too close? As an (only) Infiniti dealer they should be concerned about selling G's not selling Z's & Maxima's.
This is one of the reasons that I have asked the question about King Infiniti, I just get a bad feeling when the dealer tries to soak you this way. My previous experience has been with Tony Honda which I was totally happy with, especially since my friend is a service writer there. I know he's watching my back.

I remember hearing King had a bad rep with their Nissan dealership in Kaneohe. Naturally, I was a bit worried when I heard they were taking over the Infiniti dealership. Sounds like you all have been getting good service, I'm wondering if it'll last though.
And as for Acura's markup, yes it's a pain but there are ways to get around that without any negotiation. I bought my tsx at msrp when there weren't any on the island.

Well dropped off the car and picked it up without incident. The service guys seem spacey. Unforturnatly I was so busy I just had to drop/run/pickup/run, couldn't grill them on their upgrade policies and other stuff.
When I get the time, maybe I'll bug my salesman.
Thanks for your input guys.

Just thought I'd respond to this one. I've been going to the Infiniti dealer car shopping when it was still under Nissan Motor Corp., and like Servco Lexus, their attitude was pretty laid back. They weren't too high pressure. But when King took over, I noticed that that changed. Insiders at the dealer say they got some salesguys from the mainland and from Pfleuger Acura who are high-pressure, volume sales. I noticed this when I went in for the first time for a few months ago when this haole guy approached me wanting to sell me a car - and I just walked in the door.
Here's some advice from someone who spent way too much money over MSRP for a new car. Never buy a car the first time you walk into a dealership. If you want to get a good deal on a new G (like the '05), go to a guy named Richard Crabbe. He'll get you a deal.
For any dealer, if you go to the dealer with cash and stand your ground, you could probably get it for below MSRP, depending on how popular the car is and how much they have in inventory. Come w/ competing offers from competitor dealerships and even Infiniti quotes from the mainland. And be prepared to walk away. A friend of a friend bought a Z @ cost but he works for I think Pfleuger Honda.
And about the servicing, I asked New City Nissan and they said they'd service a G, and they're way cheaper than Tony Nissan. Only thing is they won't give you a service loaner; they have free shuttle service, though.
BTW, my name isn't Richard Crabbe and I don't yet have a G. (See login name.)
Oh, and one more thing: if you're going for a new G, you'll want to special order it because any car on the lot is already test-driven. Trust me on this one.
