If your going to spend that much, then I'd recommend KW variant coilovers or silkroad rm/a8. Cuscos are good but they're like JIC, they blow kinda early. Another good brand is bilstein and their coilovers. You'll find more useful info on coilovers on my350z.

Variant 2 would be around your price range. A person who should consult with is Sean at munkywurks. His number is in my sig. He's very helpful with the z/g community. He's the guy that you should see when getting your suspension installed and setup the right way. Tell'em 636Racer referred you.

HKS is good but that's way out of your price range, from $1900 and up.
A setup I was contemplating for all around aggressive street driving and road course (when we had a track) was going to cost me under $1600. Tokico Dspec struts, Swift springs (Linear rates), Progress Tech swaybars, GTSpec strut bars. With that setup, your car could out handle a lot of G35/350Z with just a $1500 coilover setup. IMO, coil overs are great for people who run on the track and autox, not so much on the street. A lot of people with coilovers on their cars dont even know how to set their suspension up correctly, let alone know what to look for when fine tuning them. Those people are either buying them for the name and status, or know what theyre getting into. The majority out there are buying coilovers just for the name and status. Otherwise I wouldve seen a lot of the G35/350Z guys at the motoring events (but doesnt mean you need an aftermarket suspension setup to compete - it just helps).
You need to see how much performance you'll get out of them. If you're just going for looks, get some basic coilovers. But if you're into spirited driving and maybe thinking about doing some AutoX, maybe a set of coilovers will do. Otherwise, you're just wasting your money. But in the end, it's your money.
