**** got my first door ding on my driver side door....with all my cars i've owned, i feared door dings the most. i made it my religion to park away from people, close to walls or pilllars, etc etc etc...

went to ward warehouse for dinner last night and returned to find the car next to me parked over my line. my car was parked very close to the wall on the passenger side, and i left about a half foot space between my car and the parking stall line on the driver side.

i waited an hour for the driver of the car to return and that's when i confronted him about the door ding. the passenger of their car (the side hitting my car) was a heavy set male. the couple denied hitting my car and i asked if they could unlock the passenger door so i could match their door with the ding. after more convincing, they unlocked the door and i proved to them that they caused the door ding....they still denied hitting it and LEFT.

i was pissed....they were tourists and they didnt give a flying crap about hitting someone's door. the damage is pretty bad. what should i do???

 

shoulda called security or the cops...

 

actually i did call the security which then called the police to file a report. i have a case number but i'm upset that i will most likely have to pay for the damage myself.

 

dang...you shoulda been like "you've been cursed forever" scare the crap out of them

were the people there when security came?

 

Ugh. Sorry to hear that, enzo! We also make it a point to park as far away from civilization as possible. People are just too inconsiderate. I hope you are able to recover something from the rental company maybe? Sorry, not versed in things such as these. At least you got a police report. Good luck and hope it's fixed soon!

 

thanks for your concerns....i feel a little better now that some time had passed. i'm going to see if the dent doctors could fix it. i was upset that the tourists gave no sympathy or apologies whatsoever. from how their car was positioned, how their door matched with the door ding--it was proven beyond a reasonable doubt that they hit my door. regardless, they showed no compassion. so f_uc them and i hope the same thing happens to them. anyways, life goes on for me. thank you for your compassion though.

That sucks. Go to the car rental companyt and report the claim to them. Ask them to pay the damage. They might go after the renter.

Not sure if this is gonna work, but it might be worth it.

By the way, depending on the laws in Hi, this maight be considered a hit n run. If nothing else, if it gets reported that way to the tourists ins company, it'll raise their premiums.

i always try to avoid parking next to tourists and people with bust up cars. but if they pull in after i do, there is nothing i can do about it. hopefully you get it resolved to your satisfaction. i would be really pissed too. good luck with it.

You should have punched his face!!! Either that or kicked his door in!!! I can relate to that cause I recently got my rear quarter panel dented and I was pissed! I wish I could have caught that fool! I hate peeps that got no respect for other's property!

heh, let me know how much the cost estimate is on the door ding. i got my 1st one during the car show. it was sickening. the car was all dirty so i decided to wash the car the morning of the g35 cruise. low and behold, as i dried the car down...stuck out the ding like a sore thumb. it made me sick to think that there so many inconsiderate people here. to make matters worse, the last car i knew i was parked to was a special duty officer's camaro at the rear entrance of blaisdell hall. his car hadnt moved since getting to the show and leaving, on the second night. the 1st night, i got street parking. oh well...it just sucks because on dark paint, it just sticks out...A LOT. I even tried looking at what i thought were nice cars with door dings and dents to make me feel better. haha.
