Possible to drive your car up to Mauna Kea summit for a photoshoot?
I know its a crazy idea, but has anyone here on the Big Island actually ever drove there G up there for a photoshoot?
I've driven all the way upto the summit and parked right next to the observatory before. It's a long *** drive. take a un open bag of potato chips with you. on the way up it will pop...sounds like your tire just exploded, scared the **** out of me. also put a cap on a empty water bottle at the top, by the time you get back to sea level it'll be completly collapsed.
if the hawaii super ferry still here and go there i would take my car up in Hilo. they have some nice road up there. From Kona to Hilo. a good 6miles of turns but some spots dont have guardrail. If u mestup dats it.
nyckid, i see your post all over in the regional threads. do u live on big island? just wondering.. i see your location in houston but wasmaybe thought your going to big island for vacation and planning on renting a G?

nah I had a rental, it a was a jeep grand cherokee. but I think any car should be able to make it up, the roads aren't that bad. I did notice that I had to floor it and still the car didn't have any power. The air is just too thin way up there.
