tire size recommendations...
sup y'all.
I'm planning on gettin' some 19x9.5 and 19x10.5 for my G. I need some tire size recommendations and your experiences. SO far, I've came up with:
245/35/19 front 275/35/19 rear
245/35/19 front 285/30/19 rear
which would be better? kinda want a stretch look...but not an aggressive stretch.

go with the first option. jdbinspried just put on some 19x9.5 & 19x10.5 gunmetal gt'c's with those tire options. except the rear tires are 30 series. looks very good considering he slammed the **** outta his. his drop is just above the lip front and rear.
i believe they're heavier though. 9.5/10.5.
go with 8.5 in the front and 10.5 in the rear.

with a +20 offset rear..I dont think that you can run 285 on a 35 tire....it would be better to run the 275's. The .3 inches might be just a tad too much and might cause rubbing. Also, not all tires that list as the same size are the same size. There are some differences in total width depending on the brands. Same goes for overall diameter as well.
What rims are you going to get??

i was looking into gettin' some volks with either toyo ts 1 (sp?) bridgestones....or go cheap with some hankooks. I prolly shouldn't go cheap on the tires though...or else I get what I pay for.

As far as the tires.....I would not get that cheap of a tire since we still are in the rainy season. However....if you are not going to get your tires alligned anytime soon..then it wont matter. The increased negative camber compounded on the already negative camber from the factory will kill your tires pretty quick. Bear in mind though that depending on how low you drop the car, the allignment will NOT get into factory specs. Not to mention that depending on how low you make it and how aggressive of an offset...you will not be able to adjust them correctly as well. The price we all pay for modifications.
Anyhow back to the subject. BF Goodrich T/A KDW2 going for 258 and 229. Those are one of the cheaper tires...yet offer excellent grip and wear. I would suggest Falkens, but not everyone can bring them in. Not to mention that someone still will need to mount them. And that brings up another issue in regards to rim scuffing.
Well thats my $0.02...or maybe $0.04.
Take care and see you on Saturday??

Try researching the Falken GR Beta Tires.
I was either going to get the OEM Pilots or the comparable Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. I did some comparing between the two, and for the price the F1's were a close second in performance, and a 1st in price. Then I did some research on the GR Betas, Peformance sheets made the tires edge over the F1, while being affordable. The tread pattern is similar to the Pilots as well. In F1 racing, if you know your tread patterns...there's that center strip that's constant contact to the pavement. It doesnt have tracking issues of the Eagle F1's (that I've read about) I terms of compound, I think Michelin is the King, but in the world of stop and go traffic and weekend warrior track days....you should try considering either the Falken GR Betas or the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3.
Tire Rack has Eagle F1. Munky Wurks had to order my tires, they're one of the Falken Distributors on Hawaii. I got them at a good price being a good friend of theirs, I can't say the same for anyone else who would like to order through them. Or if you can find a group of people who would like to order a set of Falken Tires with you, they could work out a deal to save you cash.
