spring installation

how hard is it?

I mean, I've installed many springs on my neon, many a hondas/acuras, and my other 240s. Just wondering if there's anything I need to be careful of...and difficulty level compared to these other cars? See with the other cars, I wasn't careful 'cause, they were cheap. Any tips like jacking points or starting points? I found it easy on my 240 to jack the front and install fronts first and then jack the rear and do the rears.

TIA

all I have to says for the back is use a jack to lift and lower the cup that the spring sit on... makes things easy when taking and installing the bolt... for the front... get someone with some weight to help you and stand on the rotors bolt to take out the whole shock...
That's about it I think...

...and find someone with the spring compressor tool to help remove the stock springs and install the new ones. When swapping out the front springs, you have to pretty much remove the whole strut. Make sure when you remove the front strut, you are careful not to scratch the paint on the fender wall with the strut screws.....

oh yeah, try and have an impact wrench and a breaker bar....some of the nuts are hella tight.....

ironic question....

I took my G in to Firestone in Kona to get alignment checked after installing Hotchkis Sport Coils. They couldn't do it becuase the valence or the bumper was too low to have the alignment computer see all the mirrors to do the alignment. They recommended that I go to a shop that has the 3D laser techonology for laser alignment. I guess its a room full of mirrors and lasers are shot all over the room and the computer calculates the alignment. Suffice it to say, there is no place on this island to do that. BUT, so far no abnormal tire tread wear on the medial sides of my Pilots after 1000 miles.

depending on the type of springs then yes, you can get it aligned. go to Island Brake and Alignment.

wow, never heard of that situation about mirrors and lasers? Well, I have tein s techs. I usually go Lyndsey's for alignment 'cause he's done three of my 240's and have never had problems with tire wear. HOw much does Island brake charge?

eh, you was at the old players by alakea (not the old old one, but the one that just got closed down in downtown) last night. I thought I saw a dg G w/ sf challenges and a lip dropped. IF you were there, what was going on up there? seems like players was open again ...or something like that.

nah, you need that camber kit if you running S-techs, especially if you running deep set wheels on the rear.
