I think cuz they're cheaper than the other places and they have a lot of locations. Plus, Hertz is owned by Ford, so ... conflict of interest?

^uhmmm... I want to ask but I'm not going to. So... I take it you didn't take the CDW/liability waiver?

I'm tempted to skip those everytime I rent a car since my credit card has "coverage," but the way these agents try to scare you into buying it... I don't know... Anyone ever rent a car, declined the insurance (cuz your credit card, auto policy covers it, etc.) and gotten into an accident?

I remember I rented this '02 Altima from Thrifty Waikiki when the car just came out, the car barely had any miles on it. I paid the $20 to get the insurance (didn't have a plat card @ the time) and as I was leaving the parking garage, I went around the pillar driveway too fast and the rear right wheel and quarter panel were totally scratched - best damn $20 I ever spent!

Haha yeah, I thought it was cool of them to do that...

I guess durring that time the rental business was kinda slow so they had all those cars to offer me.
