what kind of alarm do you guys have for yer G~

any recommend???

brand/place to install

im thinkin of gettin clifford 2way pager w/ remote start

does anyone have this installed???

wanna ask around before make my choice~

I dont' have one for my G yet... but I had the Viper Pager with Remote start on my TL... Works pretty good... lets you know which part got hit... alerts you when the pni warning goes off... reached pretty far also... I parked on the 3rd level by Sears in Ala Moana and i got an alert when I was in the food court... good thing it was only the warning... I would have never made it there in time if the alarm went off...

The remote start I only used to warm up the car... also had the roll down, roll up feature...

A friend of mine installed it back then... but he's in the mainland now... so probably ICA in Kapolei would be a pretty good shop... The guys there are pretty honest...

 

had viper remote pager setup too on my gsr back in cali. i was up on campus which was a good 10 minute stroll from my car going up the side of a hill and then some... alarm still alerted me... was running down with a few friends and when we got there we saw someone still tryin to get in my car....he ran off and we never saw him again...

so yeah....go with the viper.
sorry...dont know of any places to get installed out here...i'm pretty new to the island.

 

basically, anything made by DEI (e.g. Viper, Python, and i believe Clifford as well.). Compustar is a great alarm. don't expect to be spending what a Viper/Clifford would cost though.

 

I actually never had alarms on my previous cars, and I have lived all over Kalihi and Waipahu, and now in Waikiki. I just kept a watchful eye, and a bat by my side, and just WHACKED anybody that got close....J/K....

I'm also thinking of getting a Viper page alarm w/remote start....but does anyone know if it involves additional costs for extra components in order to make remote start work on a G.

yes it required extra parts for the 6mt. reason is because of the chip in the key. you will need to either give up your spare, or get another key at the dealer. when it comes to the OEM window roll down feature, depending on the alarm, you'll lose it, or you'll gain the window roll back up as well. basically, with an alarm by DEI, the possibilities are quite endless.

Security and Sounds in town, ICA in Kapolei, Special T Tinting (don't know the name the electronic side switched to, sorry), are great places to get DEI alarms.

It's been a while sinced I posted something but I had a Clifford G5 alarm installed on my coupe with auto windows and driver priority unlock on it. Had it done at Install Tech. They also did my stereo too, very good job. I would recommend them.

 

^ install tech is cool. i've got a friend who installs their as well.
