these are awesome tires. do you track regularly? most people purchase these after they master their car, and driving skill 1st, then move on to r compounds.

DOT R compounds make the car easier to handle and predict. The RT615 are good tires, no match for DOT R compounds though, or even Road Race R compounds in slides. The RT615 tread wear is 200, better than the S03 (IMO) but the tradeoff is longevity...if your tires look like that after a short time of owning the car, I can only imagin when you'll need another set of tires. ADVAN A048 or even the Toyo RA-1 are good DOT R compounds...probably cheaper than the RT615, but as an agressive street tire, the RT615 is the better choice.

they are and they're not. hard to explain. it's their compound being that it's 200...but I heard they're 140, they're pretty agressive for auto-x, and prefered by a lot of the faster drifters. I think that the RT615 tires were percieved as R-compounds becuase of their popularity in auto-x and drifting. Some may consider them as cheaper alternatives to using r-compounds. I am making these my street tires...I just placed an order for two 245/40/18 and two 255/40/18 keeping the staggered ratio under the 2.7% ratio of the oem tires. I found a sidewall puncture on the rear driver side on my GR-Betas, probably some hater when I went shopping at Pearl Ridge yesterday evening. So it will be a nice change, and I purchased at a much cheaper price than buying my GR-Beta's locally.

Anyway...I hope you like them. I know I will
