Hey when you folks switch out to the double DIN.......is there any head unit out there that allows you to retain use of the stock controls on the steering wheel?

 

You have to get a head unit with an infrared remote control, and then get the PAC-SWI-X, which intercepts the signals from the steering wheel control, and sends an IR signal to your neew head unit.

You all would be better asking these questions in the Audio forum, though, which gives more info on dual climate control with the double din setup as well.

does anyone really need that feature... does anyone even use it... I know I never did... oh well...

... and I can still use my steering wheel controls on the aftermarket deck...

 

got my dd kit off ebay...no, i don't have the dual climate control button. never really used it when i had it. no, i don't have use of the factory steering wheel controls.

 

I don't know if anyone NEEDS it, but I certainly use it, as I look to keep it cool, and my wife gets really cold really easily, so I keep her side warm, when she is in the car.

So, yeah, dual climate control is nice.
