Trying to find out if there are any kind of emission laws there in Hawaii that will prevent me from getting any of the mods I listed. Such as a high flow cat or headers. Anyway, please give me a heads up before I buy anything. Thanks.

as long as you retain your o2 sensors, you'll be fine here. you'll need to get a Recon (reconstruction permit), for the mods you do though. it's $15, appt. only. very strict guidelines to follow. the tint law here in hawaii is 35%.

here is a link to info. regarding recon:

Wow, thanks for the heads up. Looks like I won't be buying the highflow cats from Crawfordz since they delete the pre-cats. So, I take it the clear corners sold by Grubbs performance is ok though, right.... Thanks again. Peace.

Engine mods, no big deal, and you can go without recon on those.

Any suspension mods that are noticeable (lowering springs, outsized wheels/tires), any clear corners, bodykits, or anything along those lines can get you hit for recon.

So, I can't put on Tein H-techs or the clear corners which come with the proper colored light bulbs?

^ correct. i'm currently running the clear sides with amber bulbs. i got 3 tickets for xtreme white piaa bulbs already. you may have a hard time getting recon with test pipes because of the smell. you should just run high flow cats.

Wow, what the heck is the purpose of not allowing people to lower their cars. I can understand somebody who has a car that sits 2-3 inches from the ground, but our G's who with H-tech's will only lower what 1.2 inches. Oh well, I guess the fact that everyday you live in paradise kind of makes up for it....haha.

I think senjen's point is he's getting tickets from the clear corners, not the lowered car. The corners are supposed to reflect amber, that's what we're being told about them. You'd have to check the federal specs and see what it says. Maybe there's a way to satisfy the federal requirements.
