Don't assume...
A lot of people get hung up on the whole dual vs. single debate. It's almost as bad as the "I need to have a 3 inch pipe no matter what" argument.
There are a variety of considerations:
Is the vehicle naturally aspirated?
What other mods will it see?
Does the dual system feature an H-pipe or X-pipe crossover?
What is the size of the muffler's internal core (certainly people realize that not all muffler's internals are the same size as the pipe)?
What is the internal design of the muffler?
Fact is, 99% of all G's will never see forced induction, so you cannot assume that a dual system is better. You can buy the high priced JDM systems all you want, but most of those feature oversized pipes designed for forced induction. Further, they rarely offer dyno charts.
We don't do it this way. We don't make a dual simply because it's a dual. We make what makes power, plain and simple.
Some of you specialty shops (like ISM) clearly get it...from what I've seen, they've done a fine job of doing their own R&D internally and have developed a system that appears to perform as advertised. Whether single or dual, they've spent time working on what's important: power.
MagnaFlow does this too, and like ISM, we publish dyno numbers, sound/video clips, etc.
I think we share the goals of producing the best systems for the bulk of street driven G's at a fair price and provide the consumer with a variety of choices...it's good for the G community.
No, MagnaFlow won't make your car sound like a Mustang. The G motor has a distinct sound all it's own.
Forgive me, but I have to laugh out loud at people who insist that a Japanese car needs a Japanese exhaust, especially when you consider what I noted before...do you really want to pay more for a product with an inferior warranty, no dyno results and a product that is in essence, built for another car (the turbo version of yours?) These people are brainwashed by the media.

Craig,
You make several good points. Like you, I also find it funny to hear people say that you have to have all JDM parts on your G35/350Z to get the "RIGHT" look or best performance benefits out of the car. I have a US-made Bassani exhaust and I love it. Reputable American companies such as Magnaflow, Stillen, etc. do a lot of R&D that translates to comparable or better products than their JDM counterparts. Just my $.02.

Craig's entire post is extremely well said IMHO.
