Why are plenum spacers so expensive?

sorry for the miscommunication.. i was just saying instead of buying a 5/16 spacer (your a 6MT) you should get the mrev which comes with a 5/16 spacer. didnt know you were talking about mrev2.. in that case get the mrev2 and the 5/16 spacer later if you want a little more at the upper end of the powerband
MREV2 and 5/16th spacer installed...the guys at Motordyne were great, talked me through the proceedure.
I can definately tell a difference. Will post my results (butt dyno) later.

IMO its worth every $.. plus your a 6MT you're not going to be looking at the spacers anyways

Mine looked like two interlocked pieces not a single cut. Speaking about the spacer.

I know that I am a little bit late here but just to reinforce what Andy said above, the MREV2 + 5/16 inch spacer is the way to go on the Rev Up engines. I communicated with Tony in a series of e mails where he recommended this set up as the best way to go for the Rev Up engines only. Non Rev Up engines should NOT go with this combo unless they do a reflash because it will cause a condition of running lean.

What would I need to buy for an '04 6mt??
Thanks!

No need to apologize. I am still searching for answers to my questions on a daily basis.
Welcome to the Driver boards. I trust that you are enjoying your G.
G35Driver and My350Z are littered with the Motodyne plenum spacer and the MREV2 reviews. After performing a search and going through all of the personal/independently posted info . . . You might opt for either a plenum spacer, the MREV2 or the MREV2/spacer combo with regard to your '04 - 6MT set-up (non RevUp engine).
The plenum spacer will afford a larger inside plenum volume, which in turn will afford more air to be able to enter the said. With the engine cover mounted, the spacer is hardly noticeable to the untrained eye.The MREV2 will allow for the air to enter the lower collector's intake runners with must more ease. The MREV2 is a complete stealth installation. No one will be able to tell that it has been installed, unless the upper collector is removed and the lower collector (MREV2) is exposed to plain sight.
With the both components installed on a non RevUp engine, you may experience a lean condition. However, this can be said of the RevUp engines ('05 + '06 6MT's), as well . . . Depending on the nature of mods installed. The lean AFR (Air To Fuel Ratio) condition can be remedied by further installing an aftermarket engine management component liken to a UTEC, Unichip, etc. type of device to yield optimum gains of the installed components.

Happy reading/reseaching and modding. Enjoy!

Andy,
You're great. Mature, honest evaluations. I love my MREV 2 and 5/16" Iso Thermal Spacer. I did run lean like Tony said but my Technosquare reflash fixed it. The torque and HP improvement is well worth the cost!
