I am not sure what my AFR is. Since I am in Texas, I have access to 93 Octane. Plus, I did an ecu reset. There is no indication that I need a tune up or a re-flash. The bottom line is the car is definately faster now, and runs very smoothly.

I made this post when I first opened the MREV package w/ the spacer. After a couple days of driving, I have absolutely no complaints now.

I highly recommend this mod for an 05 or 06 (Rev-up).

I am not sure if I would put it on a non rev-up. I would probably just go w/ a spacer.

Has anyone had any trouble with dealership warranty repairs with these mods in place?

I suggest you wait for a used spacer to be sold on the forum. Doesn't happen very often, but keep your eyes peeled

Its a stealth mod, so dealer doesn't have to know. I left my engine cover off because it retains heat and reduces horsepower by 3.

When I take it to dealer I will simply put the cover on.

Anyway, dealer would have to prove that mod CAUSED a problem.

True, they would have to prove it. Now if I changed the cams and the timing chain broke or if I bent a valve, that would be a different story. But doing mild mods to the intake really won't hurt anything. I stress the word mild. I was just wondering what kind of feedback the dealerships were giving in regards to mods and mod related repair work performed under warranty.

Yes, that will certaintly add significant gains. And if you add a chip, it will also allow you to advance the timing and that is worth another ~10HP.

Adding a good exhaust will typically make about 8HP
Adding test pipes will add approximatly another 8-10HP
These are just rough numbers, but If you were to do all of it with engine management or reflash, you would have some very significant and noticable gains.

Hi Tony,

As you can see by my subsequent posts I am very happy w/ your product.
I am about to add the Fast Intentions exhaust with the test pipes (for off road use only, of course). With these mods (see sig), should I get an ecu reflash? What about technosquare? Since I consider you to be a VQ 3.5 genious, I would greatly appreciate your input.

Back to the original post. They do seem expensive when you figure that a whole new upper intake is not that much more.

Sorry for the delayed response. I check the boards all the time but this thread didn't show up on my "new threads" link.

If you are getting the Exhaust with test pipes you will be well suited to get some kind of engine management. Particularly with test pipes!

You can do the standard reflash or even engine management.

Your direction depends on what your objectives are. If you really want to tweak/fine tune the most out of your car, get the EM. If you are generally happy with what you have and don't need much more, then get the reflash.

TS is quick and easy and cheaper. EM will give a more customized tune.

Different people will have different objectives so its a little difficult to say which one to do.

Heck. Some people do both!

Wow, people are still responding to this old post....as long as I have Tony's attention, what do you think of UTEC vs Emanage Ultimate. Both allow A/F adjustment and timing advance. The UTEC will lift the rev limit, but my car loses power after 6200 anyway, so I shift before 7K.

As you can see from my sig, I am going w/ the EU (That is what SGP racing, who will be doing my tune works with....well they also love the F-con, but I don't have 3K for Emanagement).

Both are good. You can't go wrong with either.
