Should I buy and HKS exhaust now or...
...wait and hope for the price to go down since Injen and fast intentions are now released? Anyone else think that HKS would drop in price due to these releases?
I seriously doubt that HKS prices are swayed much based on new market releases. They are having a difficult enough time simply supplying their current demand. If you are set on getting the HKS exhaust set-up . . . Shop around. There is a thread on My350Z that notes the HKS exhaust is going for less than $1300.00 shipped. That is an excellent price. Good luck!
It looks like HKS already has lowered their prices in the United States. Here's an HKS Press Release from their US web site. Note that the next-to-last paragraoh says that the price decrease includes exhaust systems.
LOS ANGELES - (May 1, 2006) – HKS USA, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of automotive aftermarket performance systems and parts, recently announced a price re-alignment effective May 1, 2006. The prices of many popular North American products are reduced as part of HKS’ global plan that includes a focus on North American growth. The ability to offer more competitive prices is due, in part, to manufacturing efficiencies and cost containment that are being passed on to the customer via HKS’ Authorized Dealer network.
“HKS’ commitment to customer satisfaction has always been based on delivering the best product at the best value. As HKS implements its global plan, operating efficiencies can be translated into better value for the HKS customer,” said Rick Lafferty, president, HKS USA. “This price re-alignment allows HKS to deliver more driving performance for less money.”
The company’s North American growth of over 50% in the last 5 years has been achieved with products developed for the market, a strong Authorized HKS Dealer network and exceptional customer support. The price re-alignment is intended to accelerate the growth with lower prices for: HKS Turbo Kit and Turbos, Intercooler Systems, Exhaust Systems, Downpipes and Meters/Gauges.
The new price structure will apply to North American product offerings, as well as some special order items.
