Stillen CAI - Easy alternative to lower bolt.
Everyone that has a Stillen CAI knows what a PITA the lower bolt is to install.
I would venture a guess that a very high % just ignored the bolt.
There is actually a very simple work around, that's easy to do.
With the front wheel removed..... take out 2 pop clips on the plastic wheel well liner.
& pull it back.
This completely exposes the lower Stillen intake.
When I opened it up, I found that the lower portion was jambed on the A/C line.
It was on an angle like the red line in the pic.
(pic was taken AFTER it was pulled down into place)
I'm not sure if this would have a long term effect on the A/C line or not???
but I thought it's better to be corrected, than leave it the way it was.
If you want you can install the bolt that Stillen supplied......see arrow in pic.
OR
What I did was use a ty-wrap;
Insert it through the hole in the Stillen that goes over the lower baffle.....
then down & arround the baffle it self. see loop line in pic
It's an easy 5 min job, next time have the wheel off....
