For those who are interested we will be offering a (race cat) as well. That one is 300 cell and metallic. But it is not carb approved.

Difference between Race Cat and High Flow cat

What are the differences between the race cat you will be offering and high flow cats (performance, sound, durability, price)? Since both are not carb approved, why not just sell the race cat instead?

The ceramic CAT is a 400 cell unit - slightly less performance than the metallic CAT, which is a 300 cell unit.

The ceramic will not give you a CEL, but the 300 will. The ceramic CAT does have a CARB sticker and number, BUT it is not OBDII compliant - neither will pass smog in California. they may pass a sniff test - but not a visual.

The CATS are for off road use only...that's the disclaimer...there's a reason for that disclaimer. There are NO OBDII compliant aftermarket high flow racing CATS out there. The only OBDII compliant CATS are factory installed.

how different do they sound, in terms of loudness? how much more power do the test pipes provide over the cats?

The resonated testpipes give about 3-4 HP more and are louder. The CATS are mellower - smoother.

So with the exhaust it should pass emissions in any state other than Cali?
