2.5in or 3in exhaust
help me outt guyss
so im getting my g35 in 2 weeks.. and i am going twin turbo.. most likely the speed force racing kit.. so im wondering which exhaust should i get.. would a 3 inch perform better than a 2.5 inch? and im probably not going twin turbo right away, i will get my exhaust first, would a 3 inch exhaust fit on a stock g35? thanks guys..

the 2.5" is good for up to 500whp. If you plan on upgrading the internals and going past 500whp in the future I would recommend the 3" although while you are n/a you are gonna lose from low end tq from the 3". with n/a you want to back pressure and with FI you want as little back pressure as possible. the 2.5" with FI will also give you a little more tq, but the 3" will give you quicker spool.

I don't know what 3" are out there or will fit but I will tell you that the bigger exhaust is always better with turbos. Always!
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. In a turbo application the turbo is the restriction in the exhaust. You want as little restriction as possible after the turbo. You will NOT lose anything with turbos and big exhaust.

I have HKS exhaust and I love it.
I'm planning on going FI with 550whp+, my friend told me that there is no need to go with 3" because it's huge for V6 engine. His friend from Z1MotorSport has 1200whp 300ZX with 2.5" exhaust, he said that when he switched to 3" he gained HP but loss TQ, and visa versa.
So, can I go with 2.5" up to 550whp+?
