Tanabe Y Pipe with reducer

I plan on making my initial exhaust mod by purchasing the Tanabe Y-pipe. I am debating if I should also buy a Dr Gas reducer for better flow. I am wondering how a reducer affects the install/ reliability. Without the reducer, it is just a bolt on replacement. I assume the reducer would add to the length and affect the install.

Any feedback, especially from those who have installed the Y-pipe with the reducer would be greatly appreciated.
