how to fix raspiness??

i had a new mid pipe installed yesterday and now i am noticing some raspiness along with a deeper tone. another member posted similar symptoms (but he changed his headers..not his mid pipe). but i think he fixed his raspiness by properly re-tightening the bolts that connect the mid pipe to the y-pipe. im thinking this may be my problem as i dont recall my installed using a torque wrench to tighten the bolts..

my question is..what torque setting (sorry i dont know the correct terminology) should i use to tighten the bolts?

i assume i need a in-lbs torque wrench. can someone confirm this?

When i had my car strait piped after the cats with stock muffler it had a little bit of raspiness. So Im guessing that after market mid pipe is more high flow than the stock one so thats y it might be ur stock muffler thats causing the rasp.

yeh but i replaced my stock midpipe with another stock midpipe (but my new midpipe has a cutout..)

i dont know..ill see if i can fix it with the method in my first post (retighten all bolts with torque wrench) and if that doesnt fix it then oh well i guess..

but first i have to figure out how much to tighten the bolts using the torque wrench...anyone? anyone know?

sort of off topic question here:when the original midpipe was taken off there was only one gasket. should there be two? and what exactly is the gasket for? stupid question?

go back under the car and get a spray bottle of soapy water and spray on the locations that gets tightened...and if you see it bubble or squirt out then you found ur leak....

also...someone had told me the 03 exhuast on a coupe is louder then the 04 and 05...im not sure if its a fact or not but if you got one from that year it might be a lil more free flowing...but im not sure about that...can anyone chime in on that??? thanks i would like to know 4 myself as well...
