K&N filter????

I replaced my stock filter with a K&N filter that I had in the garage, but I read that a few had problems with the filter or lost some power from swicthing from stock to the K&N..

is this true?

any1 here who has done this mod? any problems? comments?

I cant really comment on gains since i'm still below 1200 miles.

Re: K&N filter????

I have a K&N filter in combination with the Z tube and I like it a lot. The Z tube adds a nice intake whine and the filter is supposed to let something like 100% more air-flow into the engine. You just need to make sure you have the right K&N part number (see my post for the part number:

https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...d&sb=5∂=
).

If the filter doesn't fit properly, you're not getting filtered properly. Another issue some have had is that the oiled K&N filter can sometimes cause problems with the MAF sensor by gumming it up with oil. However, as long as the filters are properly maintained (not over-oiled) I don't see any reason why this should happen. K&N has been in the biz a long time and I trust their products.
