plenium question

i knwo i know, i did search this and found almost my answer but not exactly.

when i look at the diff products i see the crawford is a lower plenium and the mrev is an upper plenium...what exactly is the diference and can both of these be used then since one is upper and one is lower?

no0b, i know.

haha a guy at a performance shop kept on say plentum and the whole time there i was correcting him over and over.. but yeah its plenum.

i just read up again....the mrev it says it a lower collector and the crawford says its the upper plenum. I still havnt watched the vid because im at work so im guessing that is def the answer..

MD also offers a plenum spacer that can be added below your crawford or stock set up. You just need to watch out for what size spacer you get. I recomment the MD 3/8 spacer. I have heard good things about the Mrev and Mrev II. Tony from MD is a good guy.

ok so i watched the video and now have an idea about what a plenum* does....but still whats the diference then between that and the mrev?

and why does the polished crawford cost twice as much as the black one?

it is polished. the other is casted. polish gives a smooth surface air travels a lot smoother. the plenum is the top piece of the manifold.

to me that sounds like marketing bs....air isnt a solid, the microscopic size bumpbs that cause the ruffness on the ceramic cant possible make air travel any different.

Actually there is theories indicating a slightly bumpy surface is actually better for flow. Air molecules adhere to the rough surface and create a boundary layer of air that helps "lubricate" the air that follows it.
