mrev2,hi-flow cats,headers and exhaust review

Update on unichip install and dyno: Hopefulyy this week i'll get the unichip installed and the car dynoed. As soon as I get the numbers i'll be sure to post them...After almost two weeks with my new mods I must say I am very impressed the way the car keeps pulling. And these GT spec bars let the suspension do it's job very well...The car is on Rails!!!!

Hey guys, i've got an 06 6mt coupe and just had the Mrev2 and 5/16 isothermal plenum spacer, kinetix hi-flow cats, DC sports headers and Stillen true dual exhaust with single wall tips just installed on my car......And a unichip tune is going to happen tues or wed of this week.......First of all the car is so much smoother in all categories. I can definately feel the car pulling much stronger than before and the sound of the stillen exhaust mated to these mods is sweet music to my ears!!!!! It's a deep growl but in no way has a ricey note. I don't know why, but the clutch and throttle response are so much better. I've driven a stick all my life(just turned 41 last week) and the g35 had a very finicky clutch....Not any more, it's butter smooth with no more jerking. I will have pre and post dynos for everything and get them posted as soon as I can. As a side note, I also had the GT spec mid chassis brace and front and rear lateral braces put on at the same time and with my already stillen sways, rear strut bar and tein basic coilovers I can really say that this G handles on rails....My coworker who drives an 03 M3 was extremely impressed the way I was taking turns and the acceleration the car has!!!! I'll take some pictures underneath the car and post some up with the dyno numbers as soon as I get them. You can see some old photos of my ride on www.photobucket.com and just type in "markiev37" in the search images box. Damn I love this car!!!!

Can't wait for the dyno! Your engine mods are pretty much the extent of what I want, sans the headers.

More power = smoother clutch? That's interesting, a huge benefit if it is.

I have a dyno from before these mods. I also had a different exhaust than the stillen(long story as to why I no longer have it). All these mods were put on at the same time so my dynos will show from before the cats, headers exaust and mrev2 and obviously after.

Not exactly. I also found the same beneficial change in driving character. Not sure if the headers/cats or MREV+ was most responsible, or if was just a combo of those, but that common buck from 1st-2nd was greatly reduced. As you might expect from all that additional flow, the engine doesn't exhibit so much resistence. Likewise, the forward surge is still there between shifts (rather than that immediate pause in OEM form).

Glad someone else confirmed the same.

Thanks PhxBlue....I love that front bumper Is that a Greddy or Kuruma Z. I've seen both these bumpers on some G's out here in Norcal and they really look classy and agressive at the same time. FI/SC maybe a few years away for me....unless I pull that cash out of the secret account the wife doesn't know about..

Its the Stillen. Not too low to the ground and its urethane.

Wow, I'm going to have to look at that bumper on their website. It looks really good. I've got a top secret bumper and it sits very low, especially with my drop.. Oh ya, how's the fitment?? I imagine being from stillen it should be right on.
