Test Pipes or High Flow Cats
Well the time has come for me to add more power to the car. I have researched around some and havnt found a solid answer or dyno graphs to help me deside. Im either going to purchase the stillen test pipes or Random Technologys high flow cats. I already have the stillen exhaust and im affraid its going to be extremely loud with test pipes (more powerful though) and not as loud with high flow cats, but less powerful. I just dont want this rasp everyone talks about.
Does anyone know the gains that i will get from both? I heard anywhere from 7-15HP for test pipes, but havnt heard any gains for high flow cats...
Any information on this would be awesome! Once again im choosing between Stillen Test pipes and Random Technology high flow cats.

from the reviews that ive read, fast intentions resonated test pipes are the only ones that will not rasp.
i opted for HFCs because the smell of gas that test pipes give off would give me a headache every time i drive.
to be honest, unless youre tracking your car i dont think test pipes are necessary and HFCs will suffice just fine.
i remember reading that test pipes will mainly give you power up top while HFCs should give you a little "umph" throughout.
if i were to have gotten test pipes, i would have only considered the fast intentions test pipes. as for HFCs, fast intentions would be my first choice (obviously - since i have them) and the (new) crawfords would be m second choice.
keep in mind, the new crawford cats have the same cats but different/better bracings so they are more durable and the cracking issue has supposedly been resolved by using these stronger bracings.

go with test pipes, dont mess around with HFC. plus they're cheaper!!!
ive been looking into the e-cutout with a possible side exhaust out the open flange, but thats some custom work that would cost quite a bit. good luckw tih your choice!

Yea +1 on the test pipes, But don't get stillen they rip the **** out of you for a piece of pipe. I think i pay close to 300 for stillen test pipes and i regret it all the time plus the fact that it rubs on my transmission mount but thats another story.

Yes if they were cheaper i wouldn't regret buying them, the fact is its just a pipe that you can get your local muffler shop to make for prob less then 100$. But with the rubbing i think i just got a faulty set.. My Passenger side Test pipe rest against my transmission mount witch causes a constant vibration.
^ Haha, you're right that didnt make much sense.
You can listen to my test pipes after we put them on
and gauge whether or not they are too raspy for you. We still on for tomorrow or is wednesday better for you?
